These Terms & Conditions apply to the Watford Film Club website (“Website”), our email list, and attendance at Watford Film Club screenings and events (“Events”). By using our Website, joining our mailing list, or purchasing a ticket, you agree to these Terms.
1) About Watford Film Club
Watford Film Club (“we”, “us”) is a community film club organising film screenings and related Events, typically hosted at partner venues (for example, Watford Palace Theatre – Studio 1).
We run Events on a “best endeavours” basis. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
2) Tickets and entry
Ticket purchase: Tickets may be sold via our website and/or an official ticketing partner (for example, a venue box office or third-party ticketing provider). Where tickets are sold by a partner, their purchase and entry terms may also apply.
Confirmation: It is your responsibility to check your booking confirmation and contact us promptly if you believe there is an error.
Age ratings: You must ensure all attendees meet the film’s BBFC age rating and any venue entry requirements.
Late arrival / admission: We may refuse late admission if it would disrupt the screening or if required by the venue.
Resale: Tickets must not be resold for profit.
3) Cancellations, changes and refunds
If we cancel: If an event is cancelled, you will be offered a refund (or an alternative option such as moving your ticket to a rescheduled date, where available).
If we reschedule or change the programme: If an event date/time changes or the advertised film/programme changes materially, you may request a refund.
If you can’t attend: Unless otherwise stated for a specific event, refunds are available up to 48 hours before the published start time. After that point, refunds are not guaranteed.
How refunds are issued: Refunds are made to the original payment method and may take several working days depending on your payment provider.
4) Memberships and vouchers (if offered)
If we offer memberships, discount codes or vouchers:
Memberships/vouchers are non-transferable unless we explicitly confirm otherwise.
Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Any expiry date shown on a voucher applies.
5) Behaviour and venue rules
Please be respectful to other guests, our volunteers, and venue staff.
We may refuse entry or ask you to leave (without refund) for unsafe, abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour.
Venue rules apply, including policies on alcohol, recording/photography, and bringing food/drink into the screening space.
6) Accessibility
We aim to make events welcoming and accessible. If you have accessibility requirements, contact us in advance and we’ll do our best to help, subject to venue capabilities.
7) Website, payments and communications
Payments: Card payments are processed by our ticketing partner/payment processor. We do not store your full card details.
Mailing list: If you sign up to receive emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
Cookies/analytics: We may use basic cookies and/or analytics to understand Website usage and improve the experience. (If you have a separate Privacy/Cookie Policy, link to it here.)
8) Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability connected to an Event will not exceed the face value of the ticket(s) purchased for that Event, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
9) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Website is the current version.
