Our film screenings take place in Studio 1, a flexible cinema space at the Palace designed for intimate performances, digital content, and events. This modern, self-contained room offers a relaxed, small-cinema atmosphere while still benefiting from the vibrant energy of a working theatre building, complete with a convenient theatre bar.
One of the best parts of enjoying film screenings at the Palace is the vibrant social space. The theatre bar and café will be open for drinks and snacks before and after the film, making it an ideal spot to meet other film-goers, chat about the screening, and make a night of it in the centre of Watford, especially after catching a show in Studio 1 cinema.
Studio 1 cinema will be configured as a cosy screening room for film screenings, featuring an HD projector with Blu-ray projection for crisp, cinema-quality images. The dedicated sound system is suitable for dialogue-driven films as well as more atmospheric soundtracks. You'll find a mix of standard chairs and a sofa/soft seating for a more relaxed style feel. Blackout blinds will ensure we create a true big-screen experience, even for earlier evening shows, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a film and visit the theatre bar.
The Palace is fully accessible, featuring lift access to all levels and easily accessible toilets, including unisex/gender-neutral options close to the Studio 1 cinema. If you use a mobility aid or prefer to avoid stairs, you’ll be able to move step-free from the entrance to the theatre bar and to Studio 1 for our film screenings.
